Lost in Odaiba

Lost in Odaiba

Getting lost can be a really big event, especially if you’re as tiny as a mouse. You have to think, breathe, and cry at the same time!

When I was four years old, I always tripped a lot, got lost a lot, and cried a lot. One time, I got lost in Odaiba, and a lot of polices tried to find me! And here’s how it happened.

Maybe you’re thinking, “Why didn’t your parents notice faster that you were gone?”. Well, I got lost because I was going to race with my dad. Sometimes when you think that you know where you’re going, you end up getting lost.

My dad and I were in front of a famous robot statue called “Gandam” when the big problem happened. The statue was staring at me, trying to eat me, and rip me in half.

First of all, my dad was going to go to the shopping mall that was behind Gandam, when I asked him, “Can we race?” I didn’t expect to get lost because of that question. Of course, my dad said yes, so we lined up sideways, and my dad counted, “3, 2, 1, Start!”. My heart beated fast like a shinkansen. I stepped forward and BOOM, my dad was gone. My brain didn’t work for a second. I didn’t know what to do, so I stood there feeling like a mini statue. I was shrinking and shrinking, while the whole world was getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger.

When my brain finally started to work, I started crying like a normal 4-year-old would do. Maybe my brain wasn’t that helpful, because everyone passed by like I was invisible.

After 10 minutes, 2 people finally came up to me, and asked so many questions, like where are your parents, what happened, and about 100 more. I think that I stood there and said nothing, or spoke in a weird voice, because they took me where the other lost kids were. When I went there, some adults read me a picture book, gave me some toys to play with, and tried to entertain me, but it didn’t help. Time was getting slower, and slower, and every time people passed by me, I checked if it was my parents.

I only remember that my mom and dad picked me up after 30 minutes, and I forgot what happened after that, because my eyes became heavier, and heavier, as I went to sleep.
