The swim meet :D (you got this)

 The swim meet.

BEEP! The buzzer went off. At that moment I noticed the swim meet had begun. It was Saturday, I had to wake up early which was dreadful. Of course I was exhausted but I told myself “victory shall soon be in my hand.” Here’s a quick introduction on how the swim meet goes. First you meet your coach. Once you’ve met your coach you will have him/her write on your arm about what you’re gonna swim for the race or I should’ve said the swim meet. They write a number on the right to show when you will swim.  But it’s not like we are gonna dive right into swim meet races. We need warm ups!!!! Warm ups are when you get to practice your swims. You have to swim what your coach wrote on your arm.  So technically after we do warm ups we have diving practice. Diving practice is my fear sometimes. I always feel like someone is holding my foot not letting me go. I once did a belly flop… ANYWAY! After we finished our warm up and diving practices we went straight to being competitive.  I saw some swimmers getting ready. Some were jumping up and down others were checking goggles. I felt like they’re nervous like I am right now. Numbers were getting called. I checked my arm just in case. I froze for a second or two. I had to swim!  I walked to the benches and asked the man in charge when people swam or  when I swam. I knew it. I had to swim. I went up to the diving board. I put my swimming goggles on. I was really really really nervous. Great. At least 1,000,000 butterflies were in my stomach. Three whistles were blown. That's the sign of when we can go on the diving board and get ready. I had to swim a butterfly 50 meters. I wasn’t good at butterfly and besides there was someone in TAC who is crazy fast at butterfly. The diving board felt like hard concrete. The buzzer went off and said “GO.” My friends were cheering for me. I felt happy. I dived in. Once I started doing butterfly the fast one was already on his first lap. I was half way. I made a touch turn and swam as fast as I could. I made it! I did full 50 meters and ended up 4th. “Eh better than last” I whispered in my head. That was tiring. Next swim was breaststroke pretty happy since I liked breaststroke. (10 minutes later) I had to get ready for breaststroke. I had to swim 50 meters which wasn’t a problem. Three whistles were blown. BEEP BEEP BEEP. “swimmers take your marks.. GO.” Everything felt so fast. Sad. I got third place. Words can't describe what happened to my swim…. It can but it might be hard.  My last swim was a 200m freestyle relay. Each team member has to swim 50 meters. I had to win. I came here to win!! Number 52 was called. Our relay number. Turns out I was the only 5th grader. I think one 3rd grader and two 4th graders. Swimmers take your marks, GO! The 3rd grader dived in. We all cheered, “YOU GOT THIS GOOOOOO” It was my turn to dive. I was the last one. The others already went but I made a clean prediction and dived. I swam I SWAM. I DID IT I MADE A CLEAN COMEBACK YAYYYYY. I got a winning ribbon. Happy Happy me. Well….Swim meets were over. My friend gave me a big "you got this."
