My Math Ode

 My Math Ode

Oh wonderful meaningful math,

Your problems sway like trees but in my head,

The leaves like answers falling from the branches into my thoughts,

A breeze of fractions and multiples,

I take pleasure in solving them, from the roots to the canopy.

Oh wonderful meaningful math,

You are more special than anyone realizes,

For you are helpful in multiple ways,

Thorough dividing, multiplying, subtracting and more

This is how much I adore you.

Oh wonderful meaningful math,

The ratios and percents wash in at the same time with the tide,

The areas and perimeters of the ocean seem endless,

As the waves crash on the shore,

They leave shells with all kinds of angles and shapes.

Oh wonderful meaningful math,

Even when it’s hard and confusing like a cool foggy day,

Take a deep breath and all will be alright,

Think of the problem over and over,

Until you understand it, then try again!
